How is Rahu Kaal Calculated?
The daytime (sunrise to sunset) is divided into 8 equal parts. Each segment is assigned to a planet. The Rahu Kaal period is the segment assigned to Rahu, which changes each day of the week: Monday (7:30-9:00 approx), Saturday (9:00-10:30), Friday (10:30-12:00), Wednesday (12:00-1:30), Thursday (1:30-3:00), Tuesday (3:00-4:30), Sunday (4:30-6:00). Exact times depend on local sunrise and sunset.
What to Avoid During Rahu Kaal
Avoid starting new ventures, signing contracts, performing ceremonies, beginning travel, or making important purchases during Rahu Kaal. However, ongoing activities can continue. Worship of Goddess Durga or Lord Shiva during Rahu Kaal is considered to nullify its negative effects. Routine daily activities are generally not affected.
