Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Ashtakvarga
How to Interpret Ashtakvarga Scores
Each house can have a maximum of 56 bindus (8 contributors × 7 max each). Houses with 28+ bindus are considered strong. Houses with 25-27 are average. Below 25 indicates weakness. The total Sarvashtakvarga should ideally be 337 (28 average × 12 houses + 1). Planets transiting houses with high bindus give better results during their transit.
Ashtakvarga in Transit Prediction
Ashtakvarga is especially valuable for timing predictions. When a planet transits a house where its own Bhinnashtakvarga (individual chart) has 4+ bindus, the transit yields positive results. With 3 or fewer bindus, the transit may bring challenges. This makes Ashtakvarga essential for Gochar (transit) analysis and for judging the strength of planetary Dashas.
